#1 Choice for High Quality Furniture

The Unstyled House started out as a flare for interior design and a love of all things mid-century. The earliest memory I have of loving Deco and MCM furniture is trawling Greenwich market with my dad, an engineer by trade, who incidentally dabbled with selling antiques. As a GCSE Art and Design student we built an Art Deco styled Mini bar out of glass bricks, inspired by one we had seen for sale at Greenwich.

Our Story
In my 30s I read a book, by Emily Henderson and it is from which the name of the business is derived. The book centres around the misconception that we must create a perfectly matched, managed, and curated home. Instead, it urges the reader to create a ‘lived in’ home, and comments that the ‘insta’ ready homes in books, magazines, and blogs aren’t an honest reflection of how we really live.
The book advocates allowing your home to evolve gradually, as an ‘ever-changing expression’ of our ‘tastes and interests’
What started as a hobby restoring furniture quickly morphed into a much larger business when lockdown hit! Our primary business is a farm-based wedding venue which was a disaster during the pandemic. But what should we do with our 3,700 square ft storage barn? Over the coming years it has morphed into a resting place for Mid-Century, Bauhaus, Deco, and industrial furnishings. With a life-sized paper mâché whale hanging from the ceiling, and a purpose-built design space for crafting. The Unstyled House was born.
I’ve never been one for dabbling or testing the water. I’m an ‘all-in’ kinda gal. so today you will see a curated collection of over 200 pieces of my best finds….
