This medium sideboard is both useful and elegant. Made by Meredew of Letchworth in teak and featuring two cupboards and two drawers, it would make a handsome addition to any living space. and would be superb used as a media cabinet. We can mount it on splayed solid wooden legs to make it higher and more practical.

D Meredew Ltd, a little known British furniture maker, were a medium sized manufacturer in the 1960s and 70s . They were based in Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire . Having started out in London, Frederick Hard who was the owner brought some 50 families with him in 1914 to the new town of Letchworth . By 1938 they were employing 177 people . They produced less than G Plan, being a similar size to McIntosh and White and Newton. Like Austinsuite they mainly made bedroom furniture.

Condition report:

There are a few indentations but overall this piece is in superb vintage condition with no missing teak veneer. There is some minor discolouration to the top where part has not been exposed to the sunlight.

Good vintage condition. No major marks. Hinge inside one of the doors has been replaced with a modern fitting.
